It was a week of firsts in Week 7 of the Pro Volleyball Federation.

The Vegas Thrill recorded the first reverse sweep in league history and Alisha Childress was named Player of the Week, the first setter to earn the honor.

The Thrill’s five-set comeback win (21-25, 21-25, 25-21, 25-16, 15-12) was against the Grand Rapids Rise on Sunday night. The reverse sweep is indicated by the Thrill losing the first two sets but sweeping the final three to a victory.

At the helm of the offense, Childress recorded 56 assists in the match supplemented by 10 digs, four kills, and three block touches. It was her fourth match of the season with 51 assists or more. Vegas hitters logged a .453 kill percentage in the match as a team.

This earned the setter PVF Player of the Week honors, making her the first setter to be selected for the award and the first Vegas Thrill player to earn the recognition.
